Why I think it may be Trestman...just a quick guess
Dying to know who our coach will be! Here is Irsay's tweet from earlier today....
Talk to many sages..but the independent thinker possess the clearest mind. The path stretches thin on the new horizon...
He has interviewed many good candidates (wise people), independent thinker is best....who is most independent? Someone from CFL.
Also, Trestman is known for mentoring and developing young QB's, something I think Irsay and Grigson should highly value in a coach.
Trestman is a winner and I think would be a great pick!

he had Chinese for dinner and that was his fortune.

I could be completely off base here because I admittedly know noting about the CFL and how valuable a head coaching job in Canada is, but it seems to me that Trestman could be had as an O coordinator. He would have the opportunity to take the reigns of one of the leagues most prolific offenses and guide it into a new era. He would be at the top of the list for head coaching candidates if our offense with Luck becomes elite within the first few years. I’m hoping that we get Trestman to run our offense and hire someone defensive minded as the top dog.
He did just as good in the NFL too
17 YEARS IN THE NFL
1 Super Bowl (Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach)
2 AFC Championship Games (Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach)
15 Playoff Appearances
Coached NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2002
(QB: Rich Gannon)

As for Trestman, he’s a real good coach. I live in Montreal, although don’t watch a lot of the CFL, I have enough knowledge of the Alouettes to know that he was a very good coach for them. The Alouettes have always had the best offense in the league but one thing that differentiated themselves from the rest of the teams was their potent running game. The defense struggled last year but that was more due to injuries more than anything else. Last but not least, out of four years, he led the team to 3 grey cups, winning twice back to back.
Hope this post helped!

He looks creepy
But he’s had success everywhere he’s gone, even in the NFL. He’s done a great job developing players. He’s worked in both defense AND offense with success.
I think he’d be a great coach. I just hope he wears a hat that covers his face.
to be honest
I’d take a year or two of Marty Shottenheimer (spelling?) to toughen this team up. No chance though.
I think it will be down to Trestman, Pavano, and maybe Tressel
One of the posters on another Colts forum is a Colts fan living in Canada. He actually follow the Montreal Als in the summer and knows alot about Trestman’s team. He says that they are alot like the Colts. Great Offense and Average to Below Average Defense. I personally want a coach with a defensive background since we are going to have win alot of close low scoring games if Peyton doesn’t come back. I like Pavano and from reading some of the Colt’s players tweets like Robert Mathis, I think they like him also.
You say ...
Pavano, I say Pagano. You say tomato; I say tomatoeee. Let’s call the whole thing off.
My apologies to whomever wrote that song.
I do assume you’re referring to Chuck Pagano of the Ravens.

great post! trestman is the man!
he seems to be a great leader, runs a solid offense and is very knowledgeable. I would rather have someone from outside the NFL than a coach that has been recycled and been a mediocre coach in the league for years.
