Prepping for the 3-4 by way of draft

So here's a mock draft for the Colts. I know most fans don't want to trade out of the Andrew Luck pick but by doing that we could add several players that will fit Pagano's scheme better.

Here's the mock:

Round 1, Pick #1: Colts trade pick to Browns for #4, #22, 3rd Rd pick, and 2013 2nd Rd pick.

Round 1, Pick #4: Redskins trade up to get RG3 so Colts move back again and add more picks. Trade #4 pick to Dallas (who picks Claiborne) for #14 pick, 2nd Rd pick, 2013 1st and 4th Rd picks.

Round 1, Pick #14: Dont'a Hightower, ILB. Let the transitioning begin. Pagano's new Ray Lewis.

Round 1, Pick #22: Peter Konz, C. Saturday might retire and Pollak hasn't shown enough.

Round 2: Mark Barron, S and Nick Foles, QB (from Cowboys)

Round 3: Dontari Poe, NT and Donnie Fletcher, CB (from Browns)

Round 4: Juron Criner, WR and Shea McClellin, OLB (from Cowboys)

Supplemental 4th - Joe Adams, WR

5th - DeQuan Menzie, CB

6th - Malik Jackson, DE

7th - Rokevious Watkins, OG

Supplemental 7th - Josh Chichester, TE

This also sets us up to have two 2013 first rounders, two 2013 second rounders, and two 2013 4th rounders.

will turn out to be the 2nd best QB out of this draft. If he gets a chance to learn behind Peyton and learn the offense, maybe he ends up better than Luck.

I know these are fun...

But why talk about stuff that isn’t going to happen. Irsay isn’t trading the first pick no matter if its a good move or not.

Hmmm....

I like the idea of this draft but I have a problem with a couple of things (just in my opinion).

First, we are not getting enough from the trade with the Browns, the value of A. Luck is 3 1sts and 2nds. So I would think: 2012: both 1s, and 2nd 2013: 1, 3, 4 (quantity as well as quality).

I agree with the trade out of #4, good value. But at #14 we have 3 options: 1 DeCastro 2. Hightower (prob not a good idea since he will be there at 22) 3. Trade back to Bengals IF Richardson is available – can get 1st and a 3rd by moving back 3 spots and getting same player (hightower)

I like the Peter Konz, and Barron pick. We do not need Foles (luck, RG3, or next year), no need to pick him up in the 2nd. Instead get Poe, he will not be available in the 3rd – will definitely be taken.
