Mock Draft w/ trades

Now that Chuck Pagano is HC, I think we can expect to switch to 3-4. bbxxj wrote this and it helped e understand the 3-4 http://www.stampedeblue.com/2012/1/26/2736287/pagano-and-the-rebuilding-of-the-defense. I agree with him for most part except I don't think we will be able to get all of those FAs.

This mock IS going to trade the #1 pick since it is IMPROBABLE to have both Luck and Manning. You can't get rid of Manning so you don't take Luck.

1:1 Trade to Cleveland Browns for 2012: both 1s, 2nd 2013: 1, 3, 4

1:4 (would take RG3 - is willing to sit unlike Luck but i have him being taken by skins who trade with Rams) Solution: Trade to Panthers (take Claiborne) for 2012: #9, 3rd 2013: 3rd round - is an iffy trade but is possible

1:9 Trade to Bengals (richardson) for 2012: both 1s

1:17 Hightower

1: 22 Konz

2:2 Minnifield

2:4 Dwight Jones

3:1 Poe (if available - if not Ta'amu)

3:9 Brandon Washington

4:1 Derek Wolfe

supp 4: Ryan Miller

5:2 Harrison Smith

6:1 Kellen Moore

7:1 Asa Jackson

Star-divide

Summary:

Colts lose A. Luck but revitalize the D and O-Line. Mathis is probably gone via FA so drafted replacements. How Team Looks w/ starters and picks:

D-Line: Dontari Poe (NT), Antonio Johnson (DT), Nevis (DT), Wolfe (DE), Moala (DE)

LBs: Freeney, Wheeler, Angerer, Hightower, Brackett, Conner, Hughes

Backfield: Powers, Minnifield, Lacey, Bethea, Bullit, Smith, Jackson

O-Line: Costanzo, Miller, Konz (Sat. Retires), Washington, Ijalana

QB: Manning, Moore (is not long-term solution, a backup- get Qb of future with Brown pick next year)

RBs: Brown, Carter, Addai

WR/TE: Wayne, Jones, Collie, Clark, Tamme, (Garcon probably leaves)

Scenario

I realized I did not make this clear:
PM will be healthy next year – what do you do? Luck does not want to sit nor does Manning think the #1 overall should sit. So Irsay has a choice PM or AL. I think he chooses PM so this is what unfolds.

Oline

3 rookies and two 1 year guys. and both 1 year guys were hurt last year. I smell a lot of sacks.

True

We are going to need a really good O-Line coach
The Colts also need to convince Saturday and Diem to stick around for at least 1 year so these guys can learn and improve.
But this draft would set up a pretty dirty line going into the future

Why

would Moore want to be a backup (on a losing team no less) when he could get a job as a starter somewhere else?

by Adam McDougal on Jan 26, 2012 9:38 PM EST reply actions

MOORE

will be lucky to make a team next year.

lol

I was thinking about Matt Flynn. I have no idea how I connected the two.

No Choice

Moore would be lucky to get drafted considering his terrible senior bowl workouts lately. He is not going to be a starter only a backup Qb.
Could also learn from Peyton – might like that role/idea

Unrealistic

I think regardless of his health Peyton is going to be released. Also, I think the second that would leave it is Freeney and Wayne.

All I want to hear on draft day is!

With the first pick in this years draft! “THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS TRADE THE PICK TO THE CLEVELAND BROWNS” After that I trust in MANAGMENT to do the rest!

little off

The browns give up a future 1 3 4 the 2 is this year.
lucks projected value is 3 1s and 2 2s so turning the 2 into a 3 n 4 is fairly equal.
Teams will overpay when they are drooling over a guy as well

Why!

Why did Mike Ditka give up the whole Saints team for Ricky Williams? Why did the Vikings give up everything to Dallas for Hersal Walker? IT happens, Teams and coaches get so caught up in players they do stupid and unexplainable deals! Kind of like FANS getting so caught up in all the HYPE of 1 player that they don’t look at any other options that make sense!!!

I like most of it

I do think though that the Colts could shore up their running game with getting a free agent like Peyton Hillis. The Madden curse is over and I don’t see him going back to cleveland. We know he can run and catch. He is also a great pass blocker and might be able to help Peyton if the O line makes a rookie mistake.

lets see here

you didnt take luck and you drafted kellen moore. if you are trying to build the browns then it was a good draft. other than that it was bad

not sure about the top of the draft but mid and end I like...

Miles Burris, LB SDSU 6’3 235lbs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtlONCH8jPA who can be got later in the draft. this kid reminds me of clay matthews… sans the hair. this kid if he is on the Colts roster next year in a Pagano defense will make me very happy.

i also love Chris Rainey, RB, Florida. Been watching him this season and in senior bowl practices and he’s darren sproles lite.
