If Peyton Retires, Make him the QB Coach for Indy

I think he's probably done with his HoF career. He doesn't have a lot to prove anymore and I think the Colts will be "rebuilding" even if he were available. No more SB title's. He will probably wait until after the SuperBowl. I guarantee he doesn't want to distract or take the spotlight from Eli. But back to the post career options. If Irsay and him are great friends, which they claim to be. Offer Peyton the QB Coach job. Whether it be Luck or RG3 either will benefit. My guess is he could win a few SB titles as coach. In a few years he will land a OC job and then HC somewhere. He is probably one of the smartest football guys ever to play so no doubt he will be successful if he wants to be.

Can people please stop asking for this?

Manning has said he doesn’t want to coach.

Why would he want to coach the QB that replaced/ran him out of town?

IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

How did he run him out of town and when did he say he didn't want to coach?

First an injury is hardly being run out of town. It is a serious neck injury that will probably cause early retirement. Not forced by team. a M E D I C A L problem.
Second he has actually never said no to coaching. people just assume by what the have “heard” form someone somewhere but never give a source. if he wants to coach it is up to him not any of our suggestions. I just view this as a viable option. He IS devoted to the Colts and he MIGHT want them to Succeed.

AGREED!

Please STOP IT! He is not going to coach. Why would he coach when he will be able to do whatever he wants? i.e., TV personality, ownership, etc..

think we've seen this bust before...

remember Michael Jordan how he wanted to “coach” up players. Superstars on that level just don’t make good coaches sometimes. Its not an exact science since there are some excellent players who do go into coaching but I just think Manning as good as he was a player we all saw could over think things so I can see him expecting way too much from Luck or whoever is our QB.

Think he would be a perfect color analyst though and would love to listen to him break down a game.

It just seems so clingy...

I love Manning the player. He has done so much for the franchise, let him be. If at some point he decides to something within the organization, awesome. If that never happens, so what. Just be thankful we got to jump around liked crazed 13 year old girls at a Justin Bieber concert everytime he tossed a TD.

The unknown future is exciting. Really, its a hell of a lot more promising than it could have been. We have an owner who desires provide the city with a championship caliber team. We’re reloading with a highly gifted QB prospect and an emphasis on tough physical defense.

Move on.

Leave Manning alone

If he is done, it would be too painful to stay here on the sidelines and a waste of his time. He would be much happier coaching up his kids.

If I were Manning

there’s no way I could go from trying to play one day and the next day decide to coach. I would be devastated and would need a year or more to figure out what I would do. Besides, I think Archie said he would probably lean toward the TV route after his career was over. He’s been on tv forever and he’s just too funny not to be.

This shit just needs to stop

Manning is not going to become a coach anywhere, at least not anytime soon. He’s not even retiring….at least not right now. He may do so at the end of the summer, but he doesn’t have to decide that now.

Yep but you know some people are demanding it that’s for sure

I too want these ideas to stop

I’ll entertain the idea for these 10 seconds, then go back to being sick of hearing it.

Look at it this way, how could you possibly pair up a QB that you want to operate like Manning (and fully expect him to be able to do so) with a control freak like Manning. Can’t happen. You’d be crossing the streams for sure.

Bitter End

This is a bitter end for Peyton Manning in Indy. Manning, if 100% and goes to another team, will always be bitter about this and has every right to be. I don’t care if it is all about the team, but you just don’t disrespect Peyton Manning like Jim Irsay has. You don’t see Jerry Buss disrespecting Kobe Bryant because he’s not 100% and had experimental surgery done. Peyton Manning might get some sort of commentary job like Troy Aikman did, and even if he does coach or goes into front office, it might be with another year, and I don’t blame him.
