Please save the new GM the hassle of having to fire Jim Caldwell. If you fire him now, you can at least talk to the Philbins, Carmichaels, and Fishers of the world about the position. My hope is that DeCosta accepts the job yesterday. He will be the start of something wonderful for you and our beloved Colts. Caldwell is a nice guy and all but he isn't the person to lead this team back to greatness. As a head coach he should've fired the special teams coordinator a long time ago. I would guess that he hasn't even talked to him about improving the coverage/return game. Please let him go ASAP.
