Sports are truly amazing. I went from having an awful week (which was coupled with the Colts getting killed in the first half) to ecstatic in a few short hours. I was reminded yesterdays, why enduring last season was worth it. Because when your team makes a magic moment, you feel LUCKy enough to be a part of it. Yesterdays game comes only second to the 2006 AFC Championship in my mind. It was a fantastic day all around by our beloved boys in blue. But where do we go from here?
6 days from now, we play the New York Jets, who will be coming off a short week and likely a loss against the Texans. The Jets are definitely beatable the question is, how do we transfer yesterdays energy for next Sunday? I honestly believe the key to starting a win streak will be on the defense. The fiery colts D I saw yesterday was nothing short of inspiring. Even after Mathis went down our defense played their tail off. Defense is a group run by emotion, this next week especially, they need to feed off the emotion and the belief they instilled within themselves against the Packers. Our Offense will put up points, the question is can our defense keep points off? I'm very optimistic for this Sunday and think we could be for the first time in over two years... A team with a winning record.
Now taking a look even deeper into the future... I honestly believe if the colts continue to play like they did Sunday, they have a shot at the wild card. The AFC is not what it use to be folks, My prediction for seeds goes as follows... 1. Houston Texans. 2. Baltimore Ravens 3. New England Patriots. 4. San Diego Chargers (yes I know they always seem to fall apart but Denver has a murderous schedule. Could very well be 2-4 after this week) 5. The Bengals which leaves the 6th spot open, I leave it open to Indy, Denver and Pitt. I think it will come down to those three or four teams for that final spot and maybe with a little LUCK, we will extend our season for Coach Pagano.
