Yes, the Texans could indeed make a play for Manning if he is cut.

Texans have almost zero cap space

But w Peyton, I would bet money on 19-0

It would be quite the story if that happened next season the SB is in New Orleans…

But to do that with the Texans would just be painful for a variety of reasons(divison rival, us giving up such a feat etc)

Unlikely

I don’t buy it but if he went there…forget it. 3 in a row.

Goldammit

How many more frickin flailing possibilities are we gonna hear before this shit is over? No beef with you Brad, I am just getting totally disgusted with any and all stories of where Manning will end up. My preference seems to be the least written about. There have to be at least two or three of us out here holding up hope that Manning stays where he belongs. A couple of us still have faith that the planets will align, Peyton returns with a Horseshoe on his helmet and shuts the naysayers up with another trophy, all while schooling the next lazer rocket arm for another ten to fifteen year domination of the NFL. There, I said it! And now, I think I’ll go read a story about some butterface trying to get her husband to catch his own passes.

really because the situation

Peyton could come back, but I think its almost a zero percent chance if he doesn’t restructure his contract . I think he’s unlikely to do that, so that is why there is so much speculation about him going elsewhere.

by coltsfanbeforemanning on Feb 10, 2012 1:05 PM EST up reply actions

Its really a waste of time

to speculate where he will go because he could go to any time. This isn’t really anything because I could make a Fanpost that says “[insert NFL Team] is interested in pursuing Peyton Manning” and it would work because every team in the NFL is going to be interested in him. Minus probably the Patriots.

I really hope Manning is retained,

but if he ends up being cut, I hope beyond hope he goes to the 49ers.

by JCub3d on Feb 10, 2012 1:29 PM EST reply actions

Not that it means much since people lie publically but the Niners said they had no interest in him.

by CF4L on Feb 10, 2012 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

Harbaugh he wasnt interested and Alex Smith is his man...

Which means, “No way in hell I can coach Peyton Manning, this is my team!”….

too bad he said that

he would win 3 in a row if Peyton is healthy and stays healthy then Smith could take back over or he could trade Smith and get someone new after Manning

by OBGYNOSUPREME on Feb 10, 2012 6:34 PM EST up reply actions

I agree with this I mean Manning was the reason why Harbaugh left the Colts

by CF4L on Feb 11, 2012 2:18 PM EST up reply actions

This

is stupid.

Each year I hope the Warriors, Colts, Cavs, and the Magic get better yet the opposite happens.

Your math is based on misinformation

Unless I’m missing an article somewhere that demonstrates that they restructured his deal in 2010 before that bonus, that $10m bonus was an option exercise fee and is prorated into 2010,11, and 12. Spotrac mistakenly dumped it all into 2010, implying that it was a roster bonus, which would’ve been a great little use of the uncapped year by Smith, but I don’t see anything anywhere that indicates that that’s what they did.

That makes his cap hit include another $3.33M if they were to cut him.

Schaub

Sorry. Was referring to the math stating that he’d only be 1.1m dead against the 2012 cap if they cut him.

by willyduer on Feb 10, 2012 4:25 PM EST up reply actions

He is not going to sf or Baltimore nor Houston

He is going to a team like Arizona or Washington or maybe Dallas! Why?
Desperation on those coaches and teams to succeed NOW will drive the prices high and Tom condon will have a nice bidding war

by Nojan on Feb 10, 2012 3:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions

I don’t see him going to the NFC because of his brother.

by CF4L on Feb 10, 2012 4:29 PM EST up reply actions

Manning to Andre Johnson.

I like the sound of that.

There's only 1 true friend in life. Jack Daniels.
