Sources: Peyton Manning cleared

"Peyton Manning has been medically cleared by two doctors, including Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the most recent surgery on the Indianapolis Colts quarterback's neck, to resume his NFL career, sources told Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN."

Well...This is great news. It still doesn't mean he'll be back with the Colts. It might improve his chances but It's probably still a long shot. It's just nice to hear some positive news about Manning.

Yeah, heard it too, but WHO released him?

Team doctors? His doctors? the surgeon???

Dear Diary, Kevin is so hot. Today he was raking the yard. God I wish he'd throw me into that pile of leaves.

Irsay said..

If Manning is healthy then he will be a Colt.
I holding on Irsay’s word.

I hope Irsay does keep his word. But as crazy as things have been lately, you just never know who to believe or what’s going to happen.

My preferred route is to keep

Manning for 2 years and hopefully he retires just as Luck starts to understand the game. Yet, if we think Lucks the guy then we need to move on and release most of those vet players.

Each year I hope the Warriors, Colts, Cavs, and the Magic get better yet the opposite happens.

Step by step!

Probably means bones have healed as they expected. I think the big issue is and always has been the Nerve regeneration. Either way, It is GREAT news for all fans who want to see Manning back on the field. Whether for Colts (As I hope) or some other fortunate team. Hopefully it is a sign of GOOD things to come.

C'mon be positive.. he just needs 2 months to be 100%

He had a hard session yesterday with Gonzalez & White..

I am being positive. Nothing would make me happier than having a Healthy Manning with the Colts this year. When the time comes, I am confident Peyton will display he is everything we remember. Or he will simply say I can’t play at the level I need to therefore I have choosen to retire from football. Unfortunatly, I think Irsay has other plans in mind. All I can say is that if Irsay CUTS A HEALTHY Manning there will be backlash from fans!(Both Colt fans and Manning fans) as well as NFL fans in general.

REALLY NOTHING NEW

Manning has been throwing for a while now. The issue is his nerve and arm strength. This report says nothing about regaining his arm strength. If the arm strength came back he’d be all over the media with that .This is an attempt by his agent to turn up the heat on the Colts.

I’m afraid the same scenario will hold and he’ll be released before March 8th. I’m actually more convinced than ever.

I agree with you.

They have sophisticated tests on measuring arm strength and I noticed that this is never mentioned in any article regarding Peyton’s healing. The surgeon said he had complete fusion last November. This is no news, IMO.
