Arrivals for Day Three of the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis include the quarterbacks. This means Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are, indeed, in the building.
The early buzz this morning centered around the height measurements of both QBs. Luck was measured at 6'4, and Griffin, who folks had questions regarding how tall or short he was, was notched at 6'2 and 3/8. This is a deal deal for Griffin because many thought his listing at 6'2 was a load of bunk. Ideally, you want your quarterbacks tall.
Yes, yes, yes, I know. Drew Brees. Tell me, what was Brees' career before he landed in New Orleans? Exactly. Short QBs need special systems and special players to make them special. Tall QBs can overcome roster talent issues better, which is why scouts and GMs like them. 6'2 is a good height for a QB like Griffin, because he will likely be drafted by a team that is sorely lacking in talent overall.
