So weird to type this phrase, but ex-Colts quarterback Peyton Manning began making his free agent visits today, stopping first in Denver to meet with executives John Elway, Brian Xander, head coach John Fox, and owner Pat Bowlen, who flew a red eye all the way from Hawaii to meet Peyton personally.

Peyton was at the Broncos complex in Dove Valley for six hours. He left with a police escort, and, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, is scheduled to stay overnight in Denver. As Klis astutely points out:

There are no press conferences or plans for Manning and the Broncos scheduled for tomorrow, but that may change.

I guess this is the point in the article where I point out how I've been saying Peyton to Denver since January. It's the most logical place for him to land, and it offers him the best chance to win another ring right now. For some reason, Broncos fans seem torn over the prospect of signing Manning and, as a result, trading Tim Tebow.

I know. They must have forgotten what truly great QB play looks like. If they get Peyton, they'll be reminded. Big time.

As of this writing, there is no official news saying Peyton will leave Denver and visit franchises such as the Cardinals or the Dolphins. The Broncos are reportedly VERY serious about not letting Peyton leave, and signing him to a contract as quickly as possible.
