I was thinking, what would be the consequences if the colts do a sign and trade? I know they would have to pay him 28mil for the roster bonus, but what other effects would it cause to the Colts organization. Irsay is a billionaire and the Colts are in a rebuilding stage. Since we are in a rebuilding stage we aren't going to be that good next year so the cap room doesn't matter. Why not sign, and trade Peyton. The Colts could possibly receive a couple of first round draft picks and a mid rounder. With these picks the Colts would receive from the trade, the Colts have a chance at rebuilding in just one year and maybe grabbing another super star. Just a thought. Highly unlikely.
