In 1998 I graduated from college and started grad school at Purdue. I never followed pro football. Friends at Tennessee told me I needed to start following the Colts -- that this was going to be the start of something special. I didn't even know Indianapolis had a football team. I'm glad I heeded their advice.
I never could have imagined just how much a sport I never watched, a team I didn't even know existed, and a player I've never met could enrich my life.
