Andrew Luck to the Colts has been a forgone conclusion for some time now. It was so obviously going to happen that NFL.com stopped pretending and actually included Luck on the Colts roster for the 2012 regular season schedule preview.
Yesterday, Colts G.M. Ryan Grigson told the media that management has made its decision on who they will take with the No. 1 overall pick, and that the decision was actually made a long time ago.
Today, we have a story from ESPN's Adam Schefter (via PFT) that the Colts have informed Andrew Luck that they will select him with the No. 1 overall pick a week from today at the 2012 NFL Draft.
If you want to know how Schefter got this report, my advice is to look at who represents both Schefter and Luck: The talent agency CAA.
We've had all sorts of unnecessary and silly drama over the past few months, mostly the result of poor communication from our team's owner. We've seen roster turnover, coach firings, and an exodus of fans. Despite all the craziness, the positive was always that Luck would be our team's quarterback. We move from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck.
We are so incredibly fortunate it isn't even funny.
