Thought I would get in on the act with my own thoughts on e Colts mock. Spoilers... Andrew Luck is the first pick.
2.) Mohamed Sanu - WR - Rutgers. Coby Fleener seems to be the popular pick here. It's certainly a convenient tie in, but if I want my QB to have someone to throw to... I would rather it be a WR. At 6-2 211 Sanu is a good size target who runs solid routes. Not as fast as Reggie, but still reminds me of him a bit. Has the skills and body type to develop into a WR1 which is as much as you can ask for at the top of the 2nd round.
3.) Trumaine Johnson - CB - Montana. CB is a screaming need for the Colts defense and it's a poorly kept secret that Pagano like big physical corners. Can't get much bigger than Johnson at 6-2 204. This guy could play CB or S and could really add some much needed physicality to the defensive secondary.
4.) Josh Chapman - NT - Alabama. Colts will be adding a bit of 3-4 flavor to their defense and have no long term answer to NT on the roster. Think there is a pretty big drop from Chapman down to Jean-Baptiste , so grabbing the Alabama product here would be a nice get.
5.) Michael Egnew - TE - Missouri. So many needs... so little time. Since I passed on Fleener earlier, I like a TE here. With both Dallas and Tamme gone, they need someone to line up at that spot. Egnew is not a star in the making, but is solid value at this point.
5.) Audie Cole - ILB - NC State. Angerer is a madman, but on the smallish side for a 3-4 ILB. At the moment it looks like Kavel Conner will be playing opposite him. I think James-Michael Johnson is gone by this point, but Cole is the sort of versatile ILB who can hold down his section of the field.
6.) Desmond Wynn - OG - Rutgers. Would like to have addressed the OL before now, but with so many holes to fill the first player joins the mudders here. Basically we need depth across the board, so position is not a huge factor. Could see a tackle here as well.
7.) Emanuel Davis - CB - East Carolina. Still need more help at CB. Not as big as you would like, but a fierce competitor. Could work as a nickleback.
7.) Darius Fleming - OLB - Notre Dame. Really just looking for BPA at this point. Can always use more LBs to rotate in or play special teams.
7.) Scott Wedige - C - Northern Illinois. And Mr. Irrelevant is... Scott Wedige. I liked the Satele signing, but I'm not 100% convinced that he is our center for the next 10 years. We really don't have any backup to speak of at the moment and Wedige should be able to fill that need.
