Looking over all of our draft picks there is a lot promise in all of these rookies and I'm so ready to see what they can do on the field. Most of these guys I had never heard of so I spent most of my finals week reviewing their careers and highlights to see exactly what we were getting and it just gets me more excited. My favorite picks so far, besides the givens in the Luck and Fleener tandem are Josh Chapman, LaVon Brazill, Justin Anderson and Tim Fugger. I'll start from the beginning, Josh Chapman was a huge pick up for us, a strong NT is what I saw in him, he has the power to take on two blockers and the burst to break off them to hit a RB before he can get out of the hole. Brazill will be nothing to brag about in his first couple years but he will develop nicely, he can return punts, kicks, and has the burst to play slot and make an impact. Anderson was another solid, late pick and will only make our line stronger, I was excited when I heard we had drafted him because we were no longer getting kids like Linkenbach who would get shoved back into Luck. Finally we have Fugger, this kid will be great at OLB especially with the people who will be in front of him, Freeney, Mathis, and dare I saw, Hughes (although he has done nothing in his pro career the guy is a pure OLB). Fugger has a high motor and does not give up on plays easily, he will not make a huge impact this year but I won't be surprised if we see him rotated in to give Freeney and Mathis a breather or two. All in all I am greatly satisfied with our late picks and I cannot wait to see this new team in action.
