The Colts signed Larry Lumpkin, one of the eight players who were available in the supplemental draft. The linebacker, who played for Carson-Newman (ten points if you know that school without looking it up), had drawn interest from several teams during a recent workout.

"Lumpkin ran a 4.69 and a 4.72 in the 40-yard dash at his high school in Irvington, Ala., in front of a handful of NFL teams. The 6-foot, 241-pounder also bench pressed 225 pounds 27 times and registered a 9-10 broad jump."
