Welcome to the vast, undiscovered country that is the 2012 Indianapolis Colts. However, for rookie fifth round pick Josh Chapman out of Alabama, we have an early window into the unknown in store for him as training camp opens this weekend. Here's Mike Chappell:
[Chuck] Pagano said he expected rookie defensive tackle Josh Chapman (knee) to open training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. He said a few other players likely would join the team’s fifth-round draft pick on PUP. He would not elaborate.
Unfortunate for Chapman, but not unexpected. He played nearly all last season for the BCS champion Crimson Tide with an injured knee. That knee still has not healed, which is why he fell to the fifth round and wasn't taken in the second or third.
Brandon McKinney, Antonio Johnson, and rookie Chigbo Anunoby of Morehouse College are the other nose tackles currently listed on the roster.
