Colts 2012 predictions...they make the playoffs!!!

With the regular season just a few weeks away, I am going to put out my bold predictions for this season. I am also doing this because I am very bored today as I wait for the nationally televised game tonight between the Colts and Steelers. I would much rather spend my day defending my predictions as opposed to reading another "fair-weather" fan post that will probably hit the main page sometime today. With that said, here it goes: @ Chicago Bears - I remember the inaugural season home opener against the Bears in 2008 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts were heavily favored in that game. Matt Forte became a household name in Chicago against the Colts defense. Chicago upset the Colts. It's payback time, only this time Chicago will be heavily favored and Andrew Luck becomes a household name in Chicago. Colts win (1-0) Minnesota Vikings - Fresh off of a shocking season opening upset over Chicago, the Colts face the NFC North back-to-back in their home opener. This becomes a battle between 2 QBs, Luck and Ponder. It doesn't take long before Luck proves his superiority as he puts points on the board early and often. The Colts never look back. Colts win (2-0) Jacksonville Jaguars - The writing is on the wall yet again, as 2 young QBs square off in what will likely be the 1st of many games between the 2. Andrew Luck has his first sub par game. However, because Jacksonville is still struggling to figure out who they are as a team...the Colts win under the total team concept. Colts win (3-0) Green Bay Packers - This is a showdown between 2 undefeated teams. Luck vs Rodgers, who his skill set is often compared. This is a shootout! Whoever has the ball last wins! Unfortunately, Rodgers pulls off an MVP type 4th quarter drive that seals the deal for the Packer. Colts lose (3-1) @ New York Jets - With the Jets struggling in the 1st quarter of the season, fans are already calling for Tebow. When Andrew Luck puts the Colts up by double digits at half-time, the Jets start Tebow in the 3rd quarter. He immediately provides the spark that the Jets needed. Unfortunately for them, Luck got hot in the 4th quarter and Tebows' legs couldn't keep up with Luck's arm. Colts win (4-1) Cleveland Browns - The hot start Browns come to Indy to face the hot start Colts. The unexpected happens every season. Thus far, Indy leads the AFC South and Cleveland leads the AFC North. What's going on? Clevelands success has been at the hands off Weeden's "Andy Dalton" type play, and the emergance of Trent Richardson. In this defensive battle, the Colts hold Richardson to his lowest total yards of the season. Andrew Luck, however, gained his most of the season with his legs. Colts win (5-1) @ Tennessee Titans - Lucks 1st division game on the road. He learns quickly that divisional road games are dog fights until the end. Luck has a chance in the 4th quarter, however great defensve play and crowd noise forces him to turn the ball over. Colts lose (5-2) Miami Dolphins - With Miami struggling to find the endzone with Ryan Tannehill at the helm, they continue to struggle against multiple blitz packages. Andrew Luck pulls out a complete performance in front of the home crowd and breeze through Miami. Colts win (6-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Yet another divional road game, only this time the Colts hold the mental edge after beating them at home earlier in the season. It's hard to beat the same team twice in this league, and that's just how the Colts do it...in overtime! Colts win (7-2) @ New England Patriots - Andrew Luck gets his first taste of the Colts' biggest rivalry of the past decade. Peyton Manning didn't have success in New England early in his career, either does Luck. Colts lose (7-3) Buffalo Bills - Buffalo has taken a few steps back this season, they continue to struggle in Indy. Andrew Luck is beginning to show dominance at home. Colts win (8-3) @ Detroit Lions - The Lions have taken just a couple steps back, however, their pass rush proves too much for the Colts O-line as Luck struggles in the passing game. On the other end, Stafford to Calvin Johnson demolishes the Colts weak secondary. The Colts suffer an embarrassing loss (8-4) Tennessee Titans - A divisional rematch in which the Titans have the mental edge. Coming off their worst loss of the season, that mental edge pays off. Colts lose (8-5) @ Houston Texans - With Houston now leading the division, the Colts can take it back with a win. The Texans put on a dominating performance at home and remain at the top spot in the AFC South. Andrew Luck does, however, look far superior to Matt Shaub in the passing game and already looks like the top QB in the division. Colts lose (8-6) @ Kansas City Chiefs - The slump continues in KC. This game is just ugly. The 'Sea of Red' showed up for KC when it counted. Neither team could get anything going in the air or the ground. Colts lose a close, low scoring game (8-7) Houston Texans - The Texans have won the division, but are limping in to the playoffs. They have locked up the 3rd seed of the playoffs. As they rest key players in week 17, the Colts take advantage. Their 4 game losing streak is ended in dominating fashion. Colts win (9-7) Playoffs: Patriots (13-3) Ravens (11-5) Texans (10-6) Broncos (10-6) Steelers (10-6) Colts (9-7) Well, that was fun. What do you think?
