I've been with SB Nation as a freelancer for six years. I never met Tim, but we did chat on email a couple of times, discussing his passion: Basketball. Tim was SB Nation's Minnesota Timberwolves blogger.

Two days ago, Tim passed away. It's a tragedy that has rocked our blog network, in particular the people who work at and read Canis Hoopis, the blog Tim was a diligent caretaker of.

Thoughts are with Tim's family, friends, and the community at Canis Hoopis. Based on the outpouring from many people, Tim was a gentle man who was well-liked. Basketball was his love. At SB Nation, we are less of what we once were now that he's gone.
