The Offseason, My Unofficial Predictions and Wish List on Who the "New" Colts Will Be This Summer.

There are a lot of speculations and theories going around right now on who will end up where regarding free agency. With over 40 million to play with under the cap the Colts have a lot of room to maneuver with. I know a lot of people think the secondary is one of the weakest links on this team right now but I have a different theory. I mentioned before the deal actually got done that the Colts were going after Vontae Davis when Jim Irsay went twitter wild with the news that a "big signing was in the making" and he was "ready to write the check." Vontae Davis made sense as he filled a great need for the Colts and in this pass happy era of the NFL, good corners are a premium that teams need to compete at the highest level.

Even before Powers went down with an injury, I felt he was better suited to playing in the slot vs starting at the 2. He just doesn't have the size or the speed to stay with elite WRs from week to week. Before the Colts sign another CB, the thing that will make their secondary better immediately is improving the front seven. As of right now the Colts don't have all of the necessary pieces in place to play defense at the level of a Baltimore, Pittsburgh, or Houston. With that said, I've come up with my own personal wish list of who I'd like to see them go after.

At CB: DRC Although there's speculation that Grigson will revisit his pursuit of Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins, I think the more attractive option would be Dominique Rodgers Cromartie. The Colts are no longer the passive, Cover two defense with the 10 yard "Coyer cushion." They are now a hybrid 3-4 and play a lot more man cvg. "DRC" is a man cvg corner. In all actuality, the front office could go after both corners and afford to pay them which would give the franchise one of the best secondaries in the league in doing so. I just think Cromartie would be the better choice between the two if they only go after one.

At DE: Osi Umenyiora Although He played in a 4-3 defense for the Giants Umenyiora is athletic enough to play in a hybrid 3-4 defense. The guy is almost as gifted as his teammate Jason Pierre Paul. I would also like to see the Colts draft LSU DE/LB Sam Montgomery. He reminds me a lot of Terrell Suggs as far as his speed, and build.

At WR: Marcus Davis Virginia Tech, or Rodney Smith of FSU. Davis is a big WR at 6-4 232 and runs a 4.45 40. He would be a 1st round pick if he had a better QB to play with in college. That's the only reason he doesn't have the numbers to be considered a 1st round talent. Smith is a mammoth 6-6 219 Lbs and runs a 4.6 40. At that height, I really don't care what his 40 time is. He would be a redzone monster with Luck throwing him the ball. He dwarfs CBs across from him and is on my offseason wish list for Indy.

At OT: Andre Smith, Bengals Smith is a excellent blocker in both the run and the pass. He also brings something two of our current starters don't: Durability. Will Beatty is another OT who would fit in nicely as he served as an excellent blindside protector for Eli Manning. Luck needs that more than anything else.

Safety: Tony Jefferson: Oaklahoma: One of the stars on a star studded team should be a star at the next level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4mRk91N2Pw

That's my short list of wishful for thinking. I hope we at least get some of these picks. Of all the ones I posted DRC is the one I'd like to see most.
