NFL Playoffs: Colts Without Guard Joe Reitz

USA TODAY Sports

Colts get some injured players back just in time.

Starting offensive guard Joe Reitz did not travel with the Colts for Sunday's NFL Wildcard Playoff game in Baltimore against the Ravens. Reitz sustained a concussion during Indy's Week 17 win at home over the Texans. This is the second concussion Reitz has had to deal with this season. Well, the second that we know of. Two concussions in one year is not good.

Look for Jeff Linkenbach to start at LG for Reitz. The Colts have struggled to pass block all season long, especially along the interior of the offensive line. Starting center Samson Satele is expected to return today after missing three weeks with an ankle injury. However, in many ways, reserve center A.Q. Shipley has outplayed Satele in recent weeks. It's not completely out of the question to, perhaps, see Satele shift to left guard and Shipley play at center.

Other players expected to return are runningback Delone Carter, nose tackle Antonio Johnson, inside linebacker Kavell Conner, and defensive end Cory Redding. Strong safety Tom Zbikowski could also return. All practiced on Friday, with only Carter having limited participation. He had full participation the day before.

[UPDATE]: Colts announced the list of inactives, and they include: Joe Reitz, wide receiver Nathan Palmer, cornerback Teddy Williams, safety Delano Howell, running back Delone Carter, defensive tackle Kellen Heard, and guard-tackle Tony Hills.
