You can all probably guess where I'm going with this just from the title, but it is something that bothers me. There seems to be two, pretty consistent story lines with Colts fans right now. 1.) Reggie Wayne is awesome. He showed loyalty, sticking with the team. 2.) Freeney needs to go. The memories are great, but the NFL is a business, and he isn't producing up to his salary.
Freeney has made it very clear he wishes to remain a Colt. Now, like Reggie I'm sure we might have to talk about salary a little bit. But I feel we should promote loyalty going both ways. First, it seems like the right way to do things. Second, part of why the Colts were so good this year, is we played like a family. Keeping on a "family member" even when it might not, from a pure numbers standpoint, make sense, would encourage this sort of camaraderie in the future.
