I have been watching this whole season, even the wins, with reservations about our offense and its consistency.
I put 100% blame for the recent loss on our offense. Chargers have always given us fits with their long drives and ability to convert third downs at will. Let alone with several key starters missing.
Pep Hamilton has pissed me off all season (only game I liked was Seahawks game, when we didn't use FB so much because Havili was injured).
But his bad schemes and worse play calling are terrible to watch. The worst part is, no matter how bad the coaches are, they have a guy in Andrew Luck who can cover up so many mistakes. JUST like peyton did, which is why we only won ONE superbowl.
Some people will say don't freak out we are 4-2, etc etc. But the truth is that we are 4-2 despite our coaching staff.
This power run is bullshit, we should be using power run to COMPLEMENT the passing game. Ball needs to be in lucks hands. We need to spread it out and still have the threat of run game.
*Coby Fleener sucks. He’s a workout warrior, too much of a pussy to play tight end and big drops on big plays. He seems to play scared.
*DHB sucks. He cannot consistently catch the ball and has terrible hands. I don’t care how fast you are if you can’t catch. Or how well your run block. He has very few big plays down the field because of his unreliable hands. He is only effective on short crosses or screensjust not enough.
*Richardson is a good not great running back. The trade is not that bad, not a huge fan of it but I can live with it. He does seem to break tackles well and runs angry.
*Donald brown is a great change of pace RB.
*Why is Mario Harvey on the team? My guess is that he’s part of the run / stop the run philosophy. Obviously cannot cover passes.
* I do not think Toler is bad. He’s not great, but he’s ok. He was playing fairly tight coverage, did give up a lot of plays but only because they avoided Davis. He is our weakest link so they target him often, but I think he’s a decent # 2 corner.
