We all know how bad Bill (and Chris) Polian drafted during his tenure at the Colts.
But him failing is not what I am going to address in this article. I just want to know what's wrong the guy? Seriously, the old man is very very grumpy and dirty at the Colts (and in particular, at Irsay).
Firstly, he spoke out about Jim's truthful comments that winning 1 Superbowl out of eleven playoff appearances during the Peyton era was quite an underachievement as seeing teams with lesser QBs win multiple rings was hard (it was hard for us fans too). On a debate which brings a lot of controversy, Peyton (in my view) is the best Quarterback of this generation, so winning one SB was not as impressive as it seemed. But hey, Polian didn't look at it that way. Jim correctly stated the incompetence of special teams and defense during the Manning era. After all, the likes of Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning (still very good QBs) have more rings than Peyton- and if you looked at what their supporting casts were, it's not really that surprising.
Polian, if you are good at analysing transcripts, Irsay was NOT having a shot at Manning. Irsay wants a balanced team (which your shoddy draft picks failed to provide besides a small few such as Freeney, Mathis and Bethea).
Polian is at it again it seems guys, and I want to know what you guys make of Polian saying that "his heart is with Denver". Hard feelings much Polian? I mean, you drafted poorly for 10 years after making the no-brainer of picking the Sheriff- Irsay had no choice but to fire you.
“My Lord, we won more games for 10 years than any team in the history of the league...Eleven playoff appearances in 13 years so, you know, that’s the definition of winning" Polian says; well, it could've been much much more as you had the smartest QB in probably the history of the game and you failed to win more. Records (during regular season) and the amount of playoff appearances mean Buckley's if you are not converting them into SB wins.
