Before the Broncos game we all listened to the back and forth about Jims comments toward Peyton and the old regime. I stuck up for Irsay and didn't mind the comments as I didn't see them as a stab toward Peyton, although I kinda wished he'd said nothing at all. But, it did take a lot of attention off of the team and Andrew Luck in peticular so they could concentrate on football and all the attention was on Jim.
After the win over Denver, Jim deemed it necessary to mention Peyton again. The words were along the lines of " I have nothing but the utmost respect and gratitude for the guy in the other locker room, but we want more than one these" as he pointed to his Super Bowl ring.
Now I have a problem with this. First, after the circus that followed your original comments you go and do it again and in front of the cameras at that. 2nd, Jim you should be more grateful that you have atleast one Super Bowl ring. Some teams can not say that. Third, Peyton took you to 2 Super Bowls and won one, have some gratitude. There was no reason to mention Peyton in your locker room speech after you beat the Broncos. I stress THE BRONCOS because you beat their team, not just Peyton Manning. If I was Peyton that would piss me off! You beat me after an emotional week of going back to the house Peyton built. Ok, you beat me, don't rub it in by mentioning me in your locker room speech in front of cameras at that. There is no need for that.
I really like our owner. He does everything in his power to put a winning football team on the field. But he REALLY needs to move on from Peyton and I think it is obvious that he hasn't. Peyton is a legend and will be loved by all Colts fans as long as this franchise is alive. Your team beat his team in one helluva game. That should be enough to for you to move on. There is no need to mention him anymore in any speeches. Im sure Jim and Peyton are still good friends but if my friend kept throwing in my face that I had only one Super Bowl eventually it would piss me off. Let it go Jim, and move on!
