As I'm sure most of you kniw Greg Toler can be cut next year and the colts will only owe him $666,667, so the question is should the colts retain him?? It seems like whenever he plays the colts defense is vastly better, but stats like PFF rate him as wildly inconsistent and slightly above average when he's at his best. He kind of passes the eye test, but to me seems like an all-or-nothing CB who is constantly trying to make the big play regardless of the ramifications if he overshoots the ball (the word for this is eluding me). Another positive is that the Colts can cut him whenever they want want with no consequences. The main negative is clearly that he is always injured. If he's cut the colts will have to find a replacement either in the 2nd or 3rd or in Free agency. Looking into Free agency Aqib Talib seems like the perfect fit for the colts man-to-man press coverage scheme, is relatively young, and is damn-good corner. However, he'll most likely command an AAV over Tolers with more guaranteed money. Other free agents include Grimes and DRC(ehh), but Grimes is old and DRC is DRC (who are you getting?).
Colts also have to re-sign vontae, so that complicates things even more money-wise. If I'm grigson, I'm cutting Toler drafting a CB and re-signing vontae.
Would you re-sign vontae? sign Talib? Draft a CB? retain Toler? or a combo?
