It is very ironic that a referee named Triplette misses a trip. This was a key point in the game and you have to wonder if Jeff Triplette should be an NFL referee. I know referees have a very difficult job and they are human, but reversing a call like this on the field should question the competency of the referee. The call on the field was down by contact. There was no indisputable evidence that Chapman did not trip BJGE. In fact there was more indisputable evidence that Chapman did in fact trip BJGE as he stumbled toward the goal line. Further there have been pictures circulating on the internet showing in fact Chapman did trip BJGE. So how does this call get overturned. The explanation from Triplette was he only reviewed the play to check on contact at the goal line. Triplette failed to look at the whole play which was confined to about a 3-4 yard area. This is an epic brain shutdown. And that is why the NFL should question whether Triplette has the competency to be an NFL referee. Btw, Triplette was involved in another serious blunder the prior week at the end of the Redskin game related to the 1st down marker being moved erroneously. Jeff, you've had a couple tough weeks. Take a vacation.
