I've found myself going through withdrawal from a lack of Colts football. I didnt feel this way last year for obvious reasons nor the two years prior to that as well. This year was different for a lot of reasons and now I spend my free time searching the internet for the latest and greatest Colts info. I've posted two videos of highlights from this past season.
What strikes me in all of these plays is that there is no pocket for Luck to stand in and throw downfield. Absolutely none. As Colts fan, we knew our line was bad, but seeing it happen play after play is concerning. If you google other QB highlights from this year, they had way more time to work. To me, Luck's ability to make these plays every game with such a terrible line was really amazing.
Watching these highlights, my absolute favorite play occurred in the Colts/Lions game where the pocket collapses and Luck scrambles for the 1st down. The defense has him seemingly contained but Cliff Avril tries to knock him down without wrapping him up. Luck bounces off it like a pinball and keeps on running. I can only imagine what Avril was thinking trying to tackle him like that. I am not sure why I like that play so much but it probably is because we've been accustomed to seeing Peyton just fall down if contact is expected. I think my second favorite play of the season was the seam route to TY for the TD vs the Texans.
So, what were you favorite plays this year?
