There's one guy that I just realized was a free agent this year. And you hear very little about this guy on the free agent talks. But this guy is a guy that I'd love to see the Colts sneak in and steal away. The guy I'm talking about is Julian Edelman. I'm sure a number of you are going, "Huh?" But hear me out. I'm a Colts fan that had to move to the Boston area for work. So I get to see the Patriots play all the time. Edelman is a free agent this year. And if you watch this guy closely, he's almost every bit as good as Wes Welker. When Wes is out injured, this is the guy the Patriots replace him with. And when they stick him in there, he plays like a Wes Welker clone. The main differences between Edelman and Welker is that Edelman just doesn't have the big name that Welker does, nor the huge price tag. And on top of that, he's 5 years younger. I hope Ryan Grigson takes a look at Edelman. If the Colts could grab him up it'd be a steal. It's not like the Patriots are going to pay a backup all that much. And the Colts could easily make him a starter. Not only that, but Edelman is great at punt returns and could do great on the special teams unit also. And on top of all of that, the Colts would be stealing talent away from one of their greatest rivals. And it could really hurt the Patriots if they lost both Welker and Edelman.
