Apparently, Shonn Greene from the Jets should be hitting the market very soon. I have read a lot about how people think we need another RB to add to the current corp ( minus Brown ). So, would Shonn Greene be a potential RB that the Colts should or might add?
Personally, I don't care much for any Jet player. I think the environment Rex Ryan has created is one of no accountability and no discipline - which violently clashes with the one Pagano has built in Indy. However, from what I have watched/heard of Greene, he has always been a servicable RB that has yet to hit his potential - which means we might be able to get him as a cheap fill-in. He is considered a bruiser back, but in '09 (I believe) he should potential of being a break away runner.
I think Ballard is fine as our # 1 for now. He is a hard worker and a respectable guy. I think he has earned the right to start for us next season.
As for Carter, I think he has a lot of potential, but needs to add sticky glue to his gloves.. IF he can get through the fumble problem (which he seemed to be doing) he is a good short yardage/goal line back.
And, for Brown, I think he replaceable. I don't dislike him, but I dont like him. He has shown flashes of greatness, and has shown that he doesn't desire be on the roster. I know he is on his last year of his rookie contract, but the roster spot could easily be more valuable then the lower price. And, maybe he just needs a new scenery to flourish in (Tim Jenning's style). I'm not going to call him a bust, but I think as a Colt, he is busted.
Anyway, would Greene be a good option to have in the RB Corp? Opinions?
