Keenan Allen Draft Profile
So many of the mocks I see around here talk about drafting Justin Hunter when the fact remains that Keenan Allen is simply better than him. These days people value potential over production way too much. After watching some of Hunter's games, his drops are simply too glaring to ignore. What we would be getting is a tall, skinny, drop-prone receiver. Basically, Hunter would be a taller Donnie Avery.
On the other hand, Keenan Allen is as reliable as it gets. Even with poor quarterback play Allen made tremendous plays and stepped up against superior competition. Allen uses his 6'2 frame a lot more effectively than Hunter uses his 6'4 body (probably because Allen is stronger). Allen also consistently creates yards after the catch and has startlingly quick moves for someone his size. Although Allen won't be breaking records with his 40 time, you won't see people catching him from behind a lot.
