"With the 24th overall pick of the 2013 draft, the Indianapolis Colts select: (WHO? Just over a week left, i cant answer)"
This is why it will be more interesting. Our biggest need last year was QB. However, now that we have the best prospect in recent years at QB, a defense that could barely stop the run in 2012, an oline that could barely protect our franchise QB in 2012 (eeeck) and wideouts like Hilton and Avery who couldnt be trusted at times (lucky for you Hilton you were a rookie and you did come up with some special plays with your electric speed. Avery, though no excuse- youre out).
I know that we did address run stop defeciencies, but now we need a pass rusher. We did too add Cherilus and Thomas- but depth and another good guard is an issue. And we did add DHB (a sure upgrade over Avery), but he aint a top 15 guy either and Wayne is 35 unfortunately.
Which leads me to the question: pass rush OLB? WR? or even Guard (most likely not though) first round?
Robert Woods: WR or Jarvis Jones: OLB look like the sure guys at this stage as they both had workouts with us. It will most likely be the guy who's available of the two. But what if both are?
Tevardo Williams, third round mock DE had a workout with indy. If Robert Woods is taken, we may add him to rush the pass. There are question marks on this guys play- hes a POTENTIAL NFL starter, not guaranteed Aaron Mallette, a 4-6th round mock wideout too had a workout with the Colts. If Robert Woods is taken before the 24th pick, Colts may have to settle for mid level talent
The way it seems, therefore,is: R1: Woods, R3: Tevardo or R1: Jones, R3:?, R4: Mallette
We too may even take a RB in the third or fourth round to complement Ballard and Brown.
Ones things for certain: i have no idea of this years draft for the Colts with all our needs which is good for GM Grigson because unless he truly screws up a pick, he can't pick a 'wrong' player. Any good talent picked at positions not named QB or TE will contribute.
