Florio explains that the NFL is now implementing a system for reimbursment of traveling expenses, mainly food expenses. The NFL will now give traveling reporters: $15 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, $40 for dinner, and $5 for other traveling gratuities (which i think they mean a drink). This is for EACH DAY! That is $80 a day they can spend on food expenses. The reason behind this is because the NFL says it was getting increasingly harder for office staff to organize and seperate reciepts being sent for reimbursment from traveling reporters. Florio goes on to write that the NFL is now a 5 billion dollar industry and to NICKEL and DIME reporters is absolutely absurd. Florio also makes a comment that they must not send many reporters to Manhattan for news.
I dont know about the majority of readers on here, but 80 freakin dollars a day for food expenses is a butt load. I couldnt believe the nerve of Mike Florio to complain to the public about only having $80 a day for food when the economy is in the tank, gas prices (atleast in Indiana) just went up to $4.25 gal. and most blue collar people out there are eating left overs every day so they can afford to put gas in the car to go to work and pay the mortgage. What a spoiled rotten pompous ass! No one wants to hear your silver spooned tongue bitch about " Oh poor me, my bloated daily budget got knocked down to slightly less bloated daily budget". I have had to travel for my work, and the very most i spent by myself for food was $30 a day.
Anyway the news is slow and this caught my attention.
