Hello Colts Fans,
With the season under way, it's time for these cross-site posts, where you guys get to ask fans of the opposing team about their thoughts on their own team and the upcoming game. Of course, fans are often homerish, or, overly cynical. Still, we know our team best and can give you insights you won't find on national media sites. This is one of my favorite parts of being here, and I hope that someone from here goes and makes a similar post at thephinsider.com.
Hopefully, other more knowledgeable fans will join me here, but I will answer what I can.
To get you started:
After reading some of the posts here, I get the feeling our teams are in a similar circumstance. Forgive me if I am totally off, but it seems like many fans, while happy with the W over the Raiders, are concerned. Following our W over the Browns, many of our fans are similarly concerned. We are happy with our D, and Tannehill played fairly well considering the time he had, but our run blocking was atrocious and we gave up a lot of yardage to a TE (again).
Our front 7 played the run well and beat the living #$%^ out of Weedon. I know he is not exactly a mobile QB known for super quick decisions, and they don't have the WRs to help him out, but we hit him repeatedly and he has a very good OL protecting him (apart from the RG, who became our b$%^&).
Our Secondary actually made 3 ints. Again, I know the competition wasn't great, but that is a big improvement for us. I don't expect us to have similar success against you, considering you are obviously better than the Browns both at WR (they also didn't have Gordon) and at QB.
Tannehill, while he had a few passes I wish he hadn't made, he also had a few beauties, especially a perfect TD pass deep. Plus, he led a game sealing drive, which is something we hope to see more often. He also was able to get the ball out quickly and accurately while facing a lot of pressure.
run blocking: we averaged 33 inches per carry... now, some of that is on the Browns having a good run defense but... It also isn't only on the OL, but it is mostly on them IMO
pass blocking was not great. Tannehill took a few sacks and was pressured often.
Thanks again. I look forward to reading your questions and comments. I hope to see a post on our site soon as well.
