Let me begin by clearly saying Im not on staff at dawgs by nature in any means, mostly i read there and post from time to time. I thought I would put up a post here now that a few days have gone by and I've given the trade some time to digest.
At first I must admit I Was angered by the trade. It wreaked of waving the white flag in week three of the season. Then I took the emotion of it out and started to break the deal down.We gave up a potent part of the offense but in fact with Chud at the helm I wouldn't even say a major part of our offense. I feel our team is shifting to a high octane throwing down the field and making your defense crumble. The team made a move to get a first round draft pick to help get the players we need to run this system next year. Now that i have had time to breathe losing trent doesn't mean losing the whole year, at most i see it being a difference two to three games.
What i want to point out is that trent has had several injuries in his young career even when we drafted him. Also, he tends to dance too much behind the line, trying to find the hole and by the time he sees it there is only 2-3yards a carry. In my opinion a third pick in the draft should be able to be a game changer every time he touches the ball.trent failed to do that here in his time in cleveland. Teams would stack the box and then theyd shut him down forcing us to rely on weeden to throw the ball to average receivers at best besides Gordon.
anyhow i just wanted to say i think this deal worked out well for both parties and wish you all the best this season and wanted to give you all a browns fans prospective on the deal.
