Easily the most difficult "quarter" stretch coming up...

The 1st Quarter of games presented some challenges for the Colts. The currently undefeated Dolphins (might change tonight). On the road against a very good San Francisco team. Playing your first game of the season against a very good running QB without much game film. Going agaisnt a division rival on the road, albeit a very bad division rival.

However, I don't think that is very close to the stretch the Colts have coming up. The team that most people believe to be the best in the NFL, Seattle, travelling to Indy. Flying to the west coast to play a very talented San Diego team who is 2-2 and certainly had a chance to be 4-0. Peyton Manning and his homecoming in Indy with the Broncos playing the best football in the NFL through 4 games. After a bye week, on the road against our division rival Houston. 3 of the 4 games in prime time on national television. 2 games against .500 clubs and 2 against undefeated teams. 2 games on the road and 2 at home. This is going to be a difficult quarter.

How do you see this playing out? Looking ahead, would you be happy with a 2-2 split? I think the Colts can win every game, even against mighty Seattle and Denver, but I also think they can lose every game. If they go 2-2, they are 5-3 with the toughest part of the schedule behind them. Right now, I think I would be happy with 5-3 knowing that you still have St. Louis, Arizona, Jacksonville, and a few other games where the Colts should be favorites on the schedule. But I think the Colts go 3-1. I think they beat Seattle (who was not impressive yesterday until Houston imploded) and then San Diego on the road. I think Peyton is almost unstoppable right now, and would give Denver the benefit of the doubt during the regular season even at Indy. I think we are better than Houston and win that game in Houston. I think that pushes us to 6-2 and makes us the division favorite half way through the year. We need to win the division with Kansas City and Miami looking like solid wild card contenders.

What say you? Is this the toughest quarter/stretch on our schedule? Looking ahead, what would you be happy with from a W-L perspective over the next 4 games?
