Hey everybody! I'm back with a new piece about the Colts!
For those of you who have read some of my other stuff on SB Nation (this piece on Indy Cornrows and my Training Camp Diary piece here on Stampede Blue) I hope you would like my website I started last year i65sports.com.
That's where this new piece is located. It's a small series I began about the Colts that I made each week called "State of the Monster" looking at the Colts upcoming game, their last matchup and some thoughts about the franchise and some of the players.
Here's a preview of this week's piece about the Patriots game:
The signing of Deion Branch at first glance is something I found amusing, but on paper makes sense for the Colts. With Darrius Heyward-Bey not playing Saturday, he probably wouldn’t even if he was healthy anyway, the Colts needed another wide receiver. Branch has major playoff experience and sure hands, a veteran presence the Colts receiving corps has been missing since Wayne tore his ACL earlier in the season.
Is it a coincidence that Branch used to play in New England under Coach Bill Belichick and with Brady at quarterback? No, but it would be a good signing even if he didn’t. Whether or not he’ll make a big impact is yet to be seen.
That's just part of the preview (that includes my prediction) on the site, and you can follow the link to the whole piece here.
Thanks everybody! Should be a great game tonight, I've been looking forward to it all week! Go Colts!
