It would seem that Pat McAfee wants to stay a Colt

One of the big questions in free agency for the Colts this year is if Pat McAfee is destined to stay or go. In a recent interview with the NFL AM crew, Pat discusses with them what it's like for him being a free agent. He starts out talking about how the man he holds kicks for, legend Adam Vinatieri, not only mentors him on the field but in areas like free agency too. He says Adam told him to "Sit back, relax, and listen to all the offers". Pat's response it what was really interesting to me. McAfee says, "I don't want to listen to all the offers. I'm a very loyal person, ya know, I'm in it for the team. I wanna just kind of ride with my boys till the end.". It would seem with that statement there, he puts the Colts as his #1 option. Of course he then continues with one of his normal comedic analogies, comparing his experience to Pawn Stars.

But the question is, will he be willing to turn down bigger offers he possibly will get elsewhere? I personally really hope so. I love what Pat brings to the team, and love even more what he brings to the city of Indianapolis. I'd really miss hearing him on Bob & Tom every week for sure! But later in the interview he does acknowledge that free agency is not a sure bet, and that he still doesn't know what's going to happen.

I'll leave a link to the video below, but there is one last thing he talks about in the interview that I think some people are forgetting. Pat was a kicker in college, and never really punted. He misses kicking, and mentions how he's been getting tutored by #4 for his entire NFL career. Although he wasn't ready when he was a rookie, he could easily take over kicking duties when Adam retires, and hopefully could be damn good at it too. But the devil's take on that is, will other teams want him as a kicker for next season? Only time will tell.

Thanks for taking your time to read! Here's the link:
