It was thought that James Ihedigbo was a lock to sign with the Lions for a while, but it has been seen that he is still on the open market. This leads me to ask the question of whether he may be a good fit for the Colts organization or not? It is no secret that Coach Pagano likes to bring in players that he coached when he was with the Ravens and it is ALSO no secret that the Colts are desperate need of a safety. Could this be a good match? In my opinion I would at least give him a look.
He may be cheap enough that Alex Mack could still be a possibility, especially if he is only brought in for a one or two year deal. I view him as a good stop gap so that we can use our higher draft pick on a safety prospect and not have to throw him to the wolves. when our draftee gets comfortable enough with the system then JH will become great depth, and with Landry and his past depth is always a great thing to have.
I would say that Grigson and Co. should at least consider the possibility. It would be better than throwing an unproven player like Sergio Brown or David Sims out there or potentially crippling a rookie's development by destroying his confidence because he was played to early.
