Dear Mr. Ryan Grigson,.... (Just a thought)

I have a claim for all of us Colts fans. But first let me say that you have done a great job (so far, hopefully) this free agency period. Adding talent like D'Qwell Jackson, Arthur Jones, and Hakeem Nicks will help the team greatly this upcoming season. Not to mention starters like Adam Vinatieri, Pat McAfee, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Vontae Davis being re-signed. Also, getting Reggie Wayne, Ahmad Bradshaw, Vick Ballard, and Donald Thomas back from injuries should boost the team a lot more in 2014. And something happened this offseason that everyone was begging on their needs for you to do. NO MORE SAMSON SATELE! HE WAS CUT! IT'S A MIRACLE! #64 won't be handing the ball off to Andrew Luck anymore. THANK THE LORD! He's gone. But, I'm here to say something. Not just ramble. I'm kind of worried, as are some other Colts fans.

You signed underachieving center Phil Costa. Now, maybe this is just a backup plan, and I am very well hoping that it is.
Costa isn't the answer. There is still a chance to get a much better center. Brian De La Puente would be a very big upgrade, and he would settle our line. But, Alex Mack would be the CROWN JEWEL! I as much as any Colts fan would love to see you pick up Mack. He would ANCHOR our offensive line and make it A LOT better. The problem is, he might be too expensive. But he would be a pretty good investment. If you were to spend 13 million dollars a year on Mack, he's your guy. If Mack is out of your reach, however, De La Puente would be ideal. He's not as rare and special as Mack, but he's still promising. The point is, you can't settle for a center who snapped it over Romo's head 2 times a game. Please, we're begging you, get another center in free agency. Go hard for Mack, or you could settle for De La Puente. Anything but Costa would make us happy! (But don't bring back Satele.. haha)

But, to you fans, have you noticed Grigson hasn't been active in free agency lately? I mean, not since the Nicks signing. Maybe he's saving the space we have for the perfect time, when he could sign Mack. The process of matching transition tags takes a while, and Mack said he'd be patient. He was actually in talks with the Colts earlier, and he was interested. But, he was being coy. Maybe, just maybe, Grigson is waiting for the perfect time to strike an offer when Mack is ready, and they have had the money saved. That would be great.

I might be hoping for a lot, but it could happen. I'm not crazy. All I'm hoping for is that Grigson will sign another center, whether it's Alex Mack or Brian De La Puente. Or, it might just come down to the draft.

Man, I really do miss Colts football. I can't wait until this season. Hopefully the puzzle pieces will be put together sooner than we thought, but I'm willing to be patient. And, the puzzle will most likely not be put together in the fans' image. But, what can we do?

Give me your thoughts of all of this mumbo jumbo. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!

And, always, GO COLTS!
