Are you as starved for free agency info as I am? Is it just me or did it seem once 12 o'clock hit on Saturday news and rumors just stopped? It honestly feels like everyone I follow on Twitter just took the weekend off.
But, I won't let that stop me. I've been scouring the internet for dirt. I've checked every possible outlet that I can. This weekend has almost begun to feel like the Polian-era all over again. Yet, FINALLY!!! I've stumbled upon the slightest piece of fresh information.
According to Bo Smolka of CSNBaltimore.com, ILB Jameel McClain may (or may not) be planning to meet with the Indianapolis Colts (before/after) he meets with the Vikings on Monday. McClain was cut by Baltimore to free up $3.2M of cap space. McClain has appeared in 87 games, starting 55 of them, for Baltimore. And, registered 192 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 INT, and 2 safeties. McClain has reportedly visited 2 other teams already before his visit with Minnesota on Monday.
If the Colts really have any interest in McClain and were to bring him on-board the middle of the defense will have gotten really crowded with D'Qwell Jackson, Jerrell Freeman, & Kelvin Sheppard. But, according to Spotrac.com the Colts aren't tied to a whole lot of guaranteed money with Sheppard. They're pretty much free to cut him whenever they want to (if they want to).
But, as soon as someone hears what the Colts plans are with Vontae Davis & the strong safety position please come screaming. This piece of (non-)news doesn't cut it. Really grasping at straws here, people.
