This is my first crack at a fanpost so please bear with me. And even though I have a Shakespearian title, I am far from an avid writer. I am a huge colts fan (and beer too) and I am interested in the thoughts of the SB community.
I have heard multiple times that this is a "loaded" draft class. Unfortunately we only have 5 picks in said draft. Also, we have several different areas to try and improve upon in the draft, (in no particular order) S, D-line, CB, interior O-line, ILB/OLB, and several areas where depth would also be beneficial. Yes, we could also add some pieces to our monster via FA after the draft, but for now, the draft seems to be the main focus. We also have ample amounts of money that could be used if needed/wanted (I understand stockpiling some to help offset the cost of A. Luck and company) but it is there if Grigs wants to use it.
Here is my question...would we get better value in this draft by picking up a pick (or two) by trading future picks?
I know...I know...Grigson has made trades in the past and some have worked out and others we are still waiting to see the return on our investment. He probably is a little gun-shy from his T. Rich trade (which we hopefully will see the return on this year.) And yes, I know some of you are sick of trading our future away. For the record, I don't know where I stand on this topic, I'm just trying to figure out how to get more valuable picks in this years draft.
Word count, Word cou...oh, wait, I already hit my word count.
