Colts Rookie Mini Camp

The Rookie Mini Camp has kicked off.

Per the interviews:

Mewhort is repping Center and Guard. He is open to any position, and is going to learn all 5. He is used to playing in different schemes, and called the Colts an "attitude" scheme. And, the young guy got his locker right next to Luck.

Muamba had many offers on the table, but Grigs called was the only GM to call directly. Big adjustments from CFL to NFL, per Hickman and Freeman, are the line differences in the line. NFL linemen are bigger and more athletic. LBs in the CFL apparently don't use their hands as much as NFL LBs. As we all know, he will be an ILB.

Moncreif.. interesting guy. His WR he listed as being lucky to talk to is Da'Rick. His Dad has a bone disease, and has a 10 month year old daughter. It sounds like he decided to hit the draft because his family needed help.

Newsome. Apparently the Colts called his HS Coach for a reference check. Wants to make a name for himself. Not overly interested in following. Good to see, but a bit worrisome. Seems much more like an "I" player than what we're used to.

Anyhow, there should be today and tomorrow left on rookie camp. Hopefully more news comes out about it. I believe after mini camp the Colts have to cut down to the 90 man roster. So, we'll see which of the "tryouts" succeed in knocking off the first couple UDFA.
