2014 NFL Draft: Second Round Mock

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Several very talented players have slid to the second day of the draft.

This should tide you all over until 7:00 p.m. ET. Dan Kadar and Matthew Fairburn have a second round mock posted. For the Colts at No. 59:

59. Indianapolis Colts - Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State

Kadar and Fairburn have Indy going Jackson here because guys like Cody Latimer, Jeremiah Attaochu, and Pierre Desir all come off the board just before the Colts' selection.

For me, if this sort of scenario happens this evening, I think I'd be leaning towards Penn State nose tackle DaQuan Jones, not a guard like Jackson. The Colts have already invested substantial money and draft picks over the years in offensive linemen. Guys like Khaled Holmes, Hugh Thornton, and Donald Thomas need to stay healthy and produce in 2014, or general manager Ryan Grigson should probably start updating his resume.

Nose tackle is not just thin on talent, but on physical bodies. Thus, I think they should go with someone like Jones over Jackson. But, that's just me.

The Mocking the Draft duo also have the Colts passing on Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State. I don't think Indy will do that.
