I'll keep this short and sweet because that's how your mother likes it (ay-oh!)... thank you.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for commenting.
Thank you for watching videos that featured my bearded mug and my muffin head.
Thank you for listening to podcasts that often had me screeching like a parrot on crack, ranting about about Bill Polian or Chuck Pagano.
Thank you for following me when I covered Super Bowls, NFL Drafts, player events, and more.
Thank you for reading my Roger Goodell interview.
Thank you for reading sites like Mocking The Draft, Big Cat Country, and SB Nation Indiana; sites I had a hand in building.
Thnk yuo forr toleratting my speliing erors.
Just thank you.
This really was a wild and completely unexpected ride. I never thought I'd last 8 years at one blog. Ask old SB Nation writers like Jason Brewer, John Bena, or Chris Harris. If you don't remember them, it's OK. Just know they were there from the beginning, and all of them heard me say, "If I last 6 more months doing this, I'm lucky."
I cannot thank people like Josh Wilson, Matt Grecco, Stephen Reed, Stew Blake, Andrew Mishler, Shake n Bake, KingRichard, Collin McCollough enough. Each of them (and the others I'm too stupid to list now) helped make me better. They made the site a destination. More than any article I wrote, THE thing that made me the most proud about Stampede Blue is that it helped others with their careers.
I'm also happy it introduced me to people like you. Doug Masson, an Indiana-based attorney, was one of the first person to comment here at Stampede Blue back in March 2006. He and I have still stayed in touch.
That, right there, was why I loved blogging.
Now, I need a break and Josh gets to run this ship on his own. For those of you that mercilessly trolled me by making fake Brad Wells accounts, god bless you. Also, seek help. You need it. For the rest of you, thank you for being great readers and participants. You'll see me around, but it's Josh's turn now. Treat him well.
P.S.- Go Colts!
