A game by game look at the 2014 Indianapolis Colts season.

Hello fellow Colts fans! I know that waiting for the season to kickoff is rough and I for one can't wait for week one against Manning and the Broncos, so to pass the time I decided to do this post previewing each week and predicting how I see this season going. I know that we are only weeks into the preseason and the roster isn't completely decided yet but after watching our defense for the last two games, I think this squad has a chance to be something special. Now they just have to go out and perform starting on Sept 7th at Mile High!

Week 1. Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts. I said that this defense has a chance to be special and when the Colts head to Denver to face Peyton Manning and Broncos, their going to have to be if we are going to have any chance. Last season in week one and at home Manning went 27/42 for 462 Yds, 7 TDs & 0 INTs. And if that wasn't enough, after a 39-33 loss to Indy last season, I expect "The Goat" to be plenty motivated to face his former team. Look to see a high scoring thriller but I will give round 2 of "The War of 1812" to Manning. Broncos win 34-27.

Week 2. Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles. After the previous loss the Broncos, the Colts will welcome their fans for the home opener against Philadelphia. I really like what Chip Kelly is doing in Philly and I think the Eagles have great things in their future but there is no way we lose our home opener. Colts win 28-17.

Week 3. Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts. Week 3 begins the divisional section of the schedule as Indianapolis heads to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. I can see the Jaguars as one of the up and coming teams and could pose a threat to the Colts AFC South Championship hopes in the coming years. While against lesser competition, Rookie QB Blake Bortles has looked really good through two preseason games going 11/17 for 160 Yrds and although he hasn't thrown a TD yet, he is giving the coaching staff (already committing to Chad Henne as the starter) something to think about. The Jags always play the Colts tough and with Bortles starting I could see a very entertaining game, but I just don't think they are ready to take that next step yet. Colts win 28-27.

Week 4. Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans. I know Ken Whisenhunt is a good coach, but rebuilding a team takes time. And as far as the AFC South is concerned the Titans are the weakest team in the Division. The Titans will have a chance in this one but just until the opening kickoff. Colts win 31-14.

Week 5. Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens. I'm really excited to see the game against the Ravens and plan on attending this one. You just know HC Chuck Pagano wants to win this one...bad! And I have a feeling that the defense and do just that. Colts win 23-17.

Week 6. Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts. I have always hated playing the Texans because they always give the Colts trouble. Adding Jedaveon Clowney to an already stacked defensive group featuring J.J. Watt, Brian Cushing and Jonathan Joseph. The key to this game is pretty obvious...The OL has to rise up to this challenge and have a great game for Andrew Luck's sake. Texans win 24-14.

Week 7. Indianapolis Colts vs. Cincinnati Bengals. For those of you that do not know, I'm a native Ohioan. Even though I'm a devoted Colts fan, my family bleeds orange and black and I can say that I have seen just as much Bengals football as I have Colts, So when I say that the Bengals are this years Cinderella team you can take it to the bank. Starting off Cincy has a real chance to have at least a top 5 defense this season. And look for both Andy Dalton and AJ Green to take it to the next level this year. I fully expect the Colts and Bengals to beat each other down for quarters like modern day gladiators in the arena. They 2 things that save us is home field and " Captain Clutch" Adam Vinatieri knocking in a 52 yarder for the win! Colts win 31-28 OT.

Week 8. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts. The Colts reach the halfway point with a trip to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. This team will go as far as Ben Roethlisberger can take them which is why I'm looking forward to seeing our defense go up against "Big Ben". Unfortunately, after the big win last week against the Bengals, I think we are emotionally spent and it costs us a win. Steelers win 17-13.

Week 9. New York Giants vs. Indianapolis Colts. After a rough loss to the Steelers, the Colts hit the road again to face the Giants on Monday Night Football. So far through the preseason, the Giants offense has looked offensive to the eyes and I don't think it gets better once the season. Giants fans are in for a long season, and the Colts win this one easily. Colts win 38-14.

Week 10. BYE. When I saw the Colts schedule for the first time. The first thing I focused on was our BYE in week 10 and how Lucky (no pun Intended) the Colts are to be among the last teams to receive their bye weeks. (Steelers and Panthers receive theirs in week 12.) Over the last couple of seasons the Colts have really struggled with injuries and week 10 is perfect to let our boys heal up and prepare to face "That team who shall not be named".

Week 11. Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots. Colts vs. Patriots on Sunday Night Football, what more is there to say. After getting ran out of Foxboro in the AFC Divisional Playoff last season, our boys know what they have to do and they have plenty of motivation to get it done. We witness another classic Colts/Patriots and this time we get the win against Tom "Perfect hair" Brady. Colts win 34-31.

Week 12. Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars. When we faced the Jaguars earlier in the season I said the key factor was QB Blake Bortles. While I think he will only get better the more he plays, I just don't see the Colts losing this one at home. Colts win 24-17.

Week 13. Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins. In the 2012 NFL Draft, QBs Andrew Luck & Robert Griffin lll were drafted 1st & 2nd overall and ever since then all I have heard is how electrifying RG3 is while Luck until recently has been left out of the spotlight. Andrew will finally get to show everyone who the better QB is. Colts win 28-20.

Week 14. Cleveland Browns vs. Indianapolis Colts. Just like with RG3 the media has made Johnny Manziel out to be the 2nd coming of "Broadway" Joe Namath and I don't like it. I believe that Brian Hoyer has done more than enough to earn the starting job in Cleveland. Regardless of which Quarterback starts against the Colts, he won't be able to save them. Colts win 24-17.

Week 15. Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans. By week 15 I believe the only team "If any" with a chance of taking the AFC South from Indy is the Texans. I also think that by week 16 the Colts will extinguish any hopes for a new AFC South Champ. Colts win 21-17.

Week 16. Dallas Cowboys vs. Indianapolis Colts. With 2 weeks left in the regular and a shot at the 1st overall seed in the AFC Playoffs, Indy heads to "Jerry World" to face the Cowboys. With all the grief the Cowboys have been given over the years for not meeting expectations, they beat the Colts more times than I'd like to admit during the Manning Era. Dallas has one of the best OLs in the NFL and with guys like Tryon Smith giving Tony Romo time in the pocket to find Dez Bryant; this may not go well for the Indy. The Colts let an great opportunity slip away. Cowboys win 20-17.

Week 17. Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts. In the last week of the regular season and with a 1st round bye on the line, Indianapolis heads to Nashville to take on the Titans. Earlier in the season the Colts stomped the Titans 31-14 and with the Titans looking to play spoiler, Andrew Luck and company will be focused on what's at stake and will earn the 2nd seed in the playoffs. Colts win 27-21.

As long as my math is correct that gives the Colts a record or 12-4 and the 2nd seed in the playoffs. How far they can go in the playoffs is entirely up to them. I believe that this team has the pieces in place to represent the AFC in Super Bowl XLVIII. Go Colts!
