Dumb Question

Hey Doss, this is for you.

You say "Dumb" to about half of the post you respond to, so here is a soft pitch for you.

Do NFL teams use advanced scouts, or is film study the main criteria for developing a game plan? I ask because of the slow starts. Why is it that we can figure something out in 12 minutes, that we could not figure out in a week? In baseball you see scouts going to the next opponents park. They could likely get what they need by just watching a replay of the game, but being there gives you a "feel" for what they may do.

So, do we use advance scouts? If not, would we benefit from using them? And, if we are using them, why the hell do they still have jobs?
