My early game by game predictions for the 2016 Colts

Lets just get started...

Detroit Lions: Win. 38-13. For once we see a Colts team ready week 1 of the season under the Pagano/Grigson/Luck era. Does it help that we are playing a lions team that has no Calvin Johnson and a new draft class that is less than spectacular? yes. yes it does.

@ Denver Broncos: Lose. 21-20. I think this is a game that comes down to the wire and the defense loses it for us on a fluke play. I think the Broncos are very upset with our current colts and they will finally get a win on us. I think our OL is still too young to handle this front seven and the team as a whole is a little "hungover" from their big week 1 win against a crap opponent.

San Diego Chargers: Win. 30-20. I think this game, we come out very strong. Pagano wants to get a win against his brother. Luck plays nearly perfect for the first 3 quarters to give us a demanding lead that the Chargers can't come back from.

Jacksonville Jaguars, London: Win. 48-36. Storylines going into this game are actually interesting as the Jags have scored 35 points in each of their games this season. However they have played really bad defenses and played bad defense themselves. Regardless they are 2-1 and were close to beating the Packers week 1. Analysts are picking 50-50 on this game. Jags take an early lead by half but the Colts come out pissed off and score 28 consecutive points and go home victorious. (Score at halftime 30-20). Jags score late in the 4th and go for 2 but fail. Yes the details matter!

Chicago Bears: Win. 41-27. Big Indiana Rivalry game. Its close until the 4th quarter. Luck has another MVP performance and wins it for us. Chud starts to become a hometown favorite with his brilliant play calling. Philbin starts to look like Mudd. Someone calls into TheFan saying they swear they saw Philbin and Chud glowing like angels at the game. Grigson is spotted burying his devil horns.

@Houston Texans: Win. 41-17. Complete and udder embarrassment of Osweiler in this game. He is benched by the 4th quarter. Luck performs the best performance of the season and possibly of his career statistics wise. Dorsett, not so much Hilton, has a huge hay day. Lets not forget that Luck is kind of from Houston. He loves playing there. Texans fans are silly gooses. Geathers gets his first pick six.

@Tennessee Titans: Loss. 17-38. What??? One of those fluke games. We entered the game 5-1. Media was all over us. Then we drop this easy win. Titans just have a good day while we have a bad one. Oline seems to be a little confused at times. but shows improvement in the second half.

Kansas City Chiefs: Win. 24-23. Close nail biting game. Adam V. gives us a game winning FG. but the doubters of this colts team come back out like last week. The front 7 of the Chiefs gives us hell.

@ Green Bay Packers. Loss. 31-41. Defense looks awful this game. No pressure on Aaron Rodgers. However, our offense scored with a lot of ease. Oline looked good. Just couldn't win with Aaron Rodgers and company able to control the clock better than we could. This team could use a bye week... Luck's stats are still keeping him in the MVP race.... 6-3 record...

BYE WEEK

Tennessee Titans. Win. 49-17. Biggest complete win in the Luck era. Obviously I have the prior loss to the Titans in this season plus the fact this is after a bye week, after a loss. Everything gets tightened up. Oline looks FANTASTIC once again. Growing pains seem to be gone or at least dwindling. Defense plays some of their best ball and even get a TD in this one... by Geathers!

Pittsburgh Steelers. Win. 34-33. Another close game. But this group of Colts are starting to get media attention as they are finally able to beat good teams and stay in games. No blowouts. (Outside the Titans game, but that's long forgotten) I have to say out of all the games in this schedule, I think this current group of colts have this one circled. This Pagano/Grigson/Luck era HAS to ABSOLUTELY HATE the steelers for what they have done to us in the past few years. This year it will be tough, but I think they beat them. I could even see the score going more in our favor, but I think the steelers might enter this game with 1 loss or UNDEFEATED.

@ New York Jets. Win. 24-16. This game has loss written all over it if... IF the colts had only 1 week to prepare. But the dont they get 10 days to prepare! Basically another bye week. We get the win, but the Jets defense proves to be a formidable opponent as they chase the wild card spot in the playoffs.

Houston Texans. Win. 37-12. Texans have given up. Watt is pissed as hell. Osweiler crawls into the kitchen (like the bitch he is) to make Andrew Luck a sandwich. Houston gooses.

@ Minnesota Vikings. Loss. 24-20. The Colts just couldn't get it done. Minnesota does a good job of exploiting us by keeping our defense on the field and controlling the clock. Flashbacks of the Manning days haunt every Indianapolis fan this night....

@ Oakland Raiders. Win. 30-28. Close game but the Colts and Pagano continue their old habit of never losing consecutive games. We get the win. On to next week.

Jacksonville Jaguars. Win. 42-27. Pointless game. We locked up a first round bye last week. Jaguars were eliminated last week. We get the win.

2016 Record: 12-4. (I called this in a previous post but changed two games around). #1 offense. Luck wins MVP. Geathers looks amazing... maybe pro bowl worthy. Gore gets 1000 yards, multiple 100 yard games, not a ton, but a few. Texans fans poop themselves. Osweilers starts dating Caitlyn Jenner.

I will be doing a team by team division by division breakdown of the 2016 season as well. Stay Tuned. Let me know where I went wrong.
