Free Agent wish list (defense)

Just wanted to throw it out there to see what you guys thought.

This defense needs a lot of work. There's not one position group that doesnt need to be addressed in my opinion. Let's start in the trenches. Right now we just have some guys there. I hope Anderson returns to pre-injury form and Ridgeway takes a leap. Kerr and McGill have been in an out of the rotation but nothing to write home about. Parry has done what he can, hustles like hell but doesnt have the mobility and strength it seems to push the pocket or provide any kind of pass rush from the NT spot.

NT Brandon Williams/ Dontari Poe/Jonathan Hankins. I list Williams first because I don't recall him having any medical issue and he's been quite solid. I wouldnt be upset if we were able to snag Poe and Hankins is a dark horse. I followed the Giants some and Hankins has the ability and the girth at 320 pounds but he hasn't actually played NT and has been inconsistent at times. He's really young and the question is are you getting the 2014 version.

DE Jabal Sheard/Calais Campbell

I list two options here because I think we pick up a body or two in the draft. Maybe even our #1 pick, who knows. Sheard is a former Brown but as we have seen not all Browns players are awful. He has always been a productive player and had about 13 sacks for the Pats the last two years. I wanted him here when he was a free agent. I think he could be a solid rotational player along the D-line. Campbell is an older player but I think he still has a few seasons left in the tank. He's a solid all around player and team vet. If the Cards let him walk, he could be a nice rotational piece and a vet leader.

LB/Pass Rusher .

Melvin Ingram/Nick Perry/Akeem Ayers. I hope that we get a guy like Ingram. I like Walden but he's really not a dominant pass rusher. A guy like Ingram would be nice. I wanted Perry last offseason. He came on in the playoffs a year ago and had a solid season again this year on a one year deal. Both he and Ingram are going to look to be paid. I like Ayers as a rotational piece. He's not a great pass rusher but can do a bit of that if needed and cover in space. I like him as depth. I didn't put Chandler Jones here because I think Arizona has already said they are going to look him up. Ideally I want Ingram and a rookie rusher in the draft to play on the opposite side.

Inside LB

Zach Brown/Kevin Minter/Kiko Alonso

Zach Brown had a great year last year and the Bills could push to retain him or not since they drafted a LB in last year's draft. Minter is a solid young player and so is Alonso who is a restricted free agent with an injury history which is why I put him last.

CB

A J Bouye/Stephon Gilmore/Darius Butler

Bouye played very good last year. I think he may be a gamble still, considering Houston's pass rush and solid defense all around. He's going to look to get paid and would still be an upgrade over Melvin and Patrick Robinson. Gilmore is a solid young corner. He had a down year last year and I'm not sure if that was in part to him playing not to get hurt. A lot of us have called for Butler to be resigned. He's the closest thing to a ball hawk we have had here and has proven his work in the slot and at safety.

Safety

Eric Berry/Logan Ryan/Darius Butler

Berry needs no explanation. An immediate upgrade to this secondary. Ryan is very young, has played CB before moving to safety where he has been solid. He's a vet, has a nose for the ball and is a very underrated free agent in my opinion. Butler could be in play here as well, it just depends how things play out.
