Banning trolls

I don't like doing it, but the fact of the matter is if you come here to "rile up" readers, as one recent (and now former) user did, that by definition is trolling. I gave the user fair warning that if he or she continued, I'd ban. They responded by attacking me. There, the user was banned and their comments deleted.

The user wasn't here to talk, debate, or state anything all that meaningful. He or she said so on another site. They were here to insight anger, bitterness, and to just act like a jerk-off. No one else from the site the user came from engaged in the same activity.

In short, this person was just a schmuck. Trolling here will not be tolerated. People are welcome to come in here and say "Go Bucs!" but if you do you better do so in a respectful manner. I'm encourage dissenting opinion, but I will not allow trolling. Thanks for understanding, and please folks always remember...

I like having Terry around. We disagree with most things he says but can make a rational argue with facts and doesn't resort to name calling until someone calls him a fag or moron first, and then it's just between him and the fag-caller.

Example:
Dallas has been extremely lucky so far on their many long 3rd downs so far. They won't look this good on offense all season.

I disagree ...

I think if you look through the blog and read the conversations, Terry is quick to start with the insults first. Personally, if it were me running the blog I would ban him.

However, I realize some of my responses to him lately have me on the borderline as well - I really, really wish there was an ignore button.

Terry adds nothing to my experience here. I come here for Colts news, not slanted rah-rah Cowboys opinions.

Not Fair

There is some clown poster named Payton 18 talking all kinds of nonsense on the Tampabay blog you just posted. You banned a Buc fan for doing the same, then printed the blog link so Colt fans can post over there. That's fair. Good spirited conversation is fun anyway. What did that Buc fan say that was so bad anyway? That the Colts were going to lose? Get a backbone people!! It's all in fun. We don't decide the outcome of games anyway, the players do. Do I get banned now for disagreeing with your banishment of a Buc fan? What am allowed to say? Don't you think it is a little boring if everyone agrees about everything? If I say the Colts are going to lose, doesn't that incite anger as well? Aren't I a jerkoff if I root for another team anyway? What is the difference?

Don't talk to trolls. Because in the end, you are the one who looks crazy when the troll is banned and all his comments are deleted so you look like you are carrying a one sided weird conversation with no context. Speaking from experience here...

And now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Oh and by the way BBS, I can understand no trolls, but what with the no pimps picture? It's hard out here for a pimp... :)

Well..

Fair enough, I think the Bucs will win because the Colts might be looking ahead a little, Isn't your big match-up with NE coming up. I know most of the fans are focusing on that one, some players might be too. I know Dungy is focused as is his staff, players may not be. The Bucs have also recieved a shot of youth to the D and a shot of Garcia to the O. Garcia does not make mistakes. Finally, if Sanders is out, we will run all over you guys keeping the ball from Manning and your potent O. Just my opinion, we will see on Sunday.

Looking ahead

Colts have a big game next week against Bye. They definitely could be overlooking the Bucs as we speak.

The NE game is week 9 (schedule is on the right side column a little ways down) and usually when the Colts blow games to teams they should beat it's in the division.

Looking Ahead

I didn't say NE was the next game, but if you go over to the Indy Star forum you would think the NE game is next week because that's all anyone is talking about. Pages and pages of NE vs Colts discussion, not one person mentioned the Bucs. I'm sure the players are focused on the Bucs, Dungy will see to that. Not many have taken the Bucs seriously since our record was so bad last season. If the Colts DO overlook the Bucs, it will be a long afternoon for them.

King Richard, no one has scored 3 touchdowns on the Bucs in an ENTIRE game this year, it is wishfull thinking to assume an undermanned Colts team will score 3 in a row. Hopefully the boys in blue will underestimate the Bucs D as well.
Injuries did in the Bucs defense of their Superbowl crown in 2003, 19 of them to be exact. I see the Colts going down the same path. Payton can't do it alone, to assume he can is arrogant and foolish at the same time.

KR, my argument didn't jump around, i just presented two arguments. I saw your argument, and raised you one.
The first argument was that it was presumptuous to assume an undermanned offense can score three touchdowns in a row against a resurgent Bucs D. The second was that the Bucs defense of their SuperBowl crown in 2003 was derailed by injuries. Injuries appear to have inflicted the Colts as well. I don't blame the Colts fans for being overconfident; you have the best QB, the best coaches, a top five DE and safety and continuity.
You know as well as I the Colts didn't look very good last year without Bob Sanders. Injuries do matter. How would you like you starting QB to be Jim Sorgi?

undermanned?

We have so many different weapons it is impossible for us to be undermanned. Sure Harrison and Addai is a game day decision, but I have great confidence in Wayne, Clark, Utech, Fletcher, Moorehead, Gonzo, and Keith just to name a few. And the reason why Gonzo has so few receptions is because Manning hasn't thrown many at him. And have you actually watched Gonzo play? He makes spectualar catches in critical situations. He just needs to earn Manning's trust before he throws at him. When Wayne got drafted Manning never threw at him, but look at him now.

O-Line

Who protects Manning? Isn't your LT banged up too? If you disrupt Paytons timing as NE has done, the multiple weapons do not come into play. Especially if a TE has to stay home and block.

who Ugoh?

No, just Addai, RB, Harrison, WR, Morris, LB, and Sanders, Safety

Ugoh has done a terrific job so far this year as well. We have not lost much in pass protection with the retirement of Tarik Glenn and we have gain some in the running game with Ugoh in. Last week Ugoh was running down the field throwing blocks 10-15 yards down field. No way Glenn could do that.

Injury report

On offense and special teams Roy Hall WR is out, Aaron Moorehead WR is questionable, Ben Utech TE is out, on D, Freddy Keiaho LB is questionable, Rob Morris LB is on IR along Macfarland and Antonio Smith. DB TJ Rushing is also questionable. The biggest losses wil be Addai, Harrison, Sanders and Morris. The Bucs have injuries too as do every team in the NFL. How is the Colts depth with Peytons large cap number?

well as you can see, none of them are offensive linemen.

Rob Morris didn't play two weeks ago and most of last game and we did alright without him, same with Roy Hall (who only plays on special teams).

And just becuase they are questionable does not mean that they won't play.

And with our depth, Addai has a up and coming back up in Kenton Keith, 80 yards in the last quarter against the Broncos; Harrison, we have a ton of great recievers, imo we have the best receiever depth in the league; Sanders has a great back up in Giordorno as well, everyone on this site has been raving at how well he can play. He makes the big plays that Sanders does.

Ugoh

Ugoh incurred a sprained left ankle in the Colts 30-24 win over Houston. He played well against the Broncos so it is probably not bad. Sprained ankles are tough, don't think it doesn't affect his lateral movement.

I lived in Tenn. during the mid nineties and was luck enough to see Peyton play on Saturdays. I also live down the street from Coach Dungy's Tampa home in Avila. I was pulling for the Colts to win the SB last year as were most in Tenn. and Tampa. Take me seriously based on my football conversation, not my ability to avoid typos. I did know it was Peyton.

The idea of the Bucs possibly upsetting the Colts shouldn't be shocking to anyone.

Rod Woodson stated on the NFL Network that he thinks the Bucs will upset the Colts this week and he's a Purdue guy who loves Dungy. So if an unbiased ex player thinks it can happen, it just might.

isn't analysis either.

You hope all of those guys won't play. The fact is, everybody on the field has SOME injury. Cato June played almost a whole season with a sports hernia here.

Fact is, Dungy's staff prepares better than anyone in the league and his win record supports that. He'll put a team on the field that more often than not will win the game. If you are a betting man, you bet with the Colts.

If you are doing wishful thinking, you try to pick at the situation and find a nugget of hope for your team.
